Westinghouse Celebrates 130 Years of Energy Innovation

PITTSBURGH, Jan. 8, 2016 – Today, Westinghouse Electric Company honors George Westinghouse’s spirit of innovation on the 130th anniversary of the founding of Westinghouse Electric Corporation.

Founded on Jan. 8, 1886, Westinghouse Electric Corporation has played an integral part in the world’s energy innovation. From the first alternating-current machine to the first completely electrified home to constructing the United States’ first large-scale nuclear power plant, Westinghouse has transformed the way the world is powered.
