The names of the accepted students for the 2008-2009 Westinghouse Science Honors Institute (WSHI) are listed below.  Names are listed alphabetically under their school.  Acceptance material will be mailed on September 26, 2008 to the WSHI contact listed.  It is the responsibility of that contact person to give the acceptance material to the students.

The first lecture is on Saturday, October 4.  Students should arrive between 8:00 and 9:15 AM.  Further instructions are contained in your acceptance material.  There is no need to call or email if you are unable to attend a lecture.

The lecture notes will be available on the WSHI web site http://www.westinghousenuclear.com/community/WSHI.  It is suggested that you print out the lecture notes, bring them with you, and place them in the binder which you will be issued the first time you attend a lecture.

Following the list of schools are the dates for the trips to Penn State University and the names of the students who are scheduled for each trip.  Due to the overwhelming interest in the trips to Penn State, we have added one more trip on December 6.  Please note that we then moved the NASA lecture which was scheduled for December 6 to November 15.  A revised schedule is included with your acceptance material.

The bus trips were filled as the completed applications were received.  Once the October 11 and 25 trips were filled, the remaining interested WSHI students were automatically scheduled for the December 6 trip.

Since the October 11 and 25 trips are filled to capacity, those buses will be quite crowded.  If you are scheduled for one of those trips and want to move to the December 6 trip, please send an email to pipersh@westinghouse.com indicating what trip you are scheduled for and what trip you would like to move to.  If any students scheduled for the December 6 trip can’t make that day, please also send an email indicating what date you’d like to attend and we will try to schedule you for that trip if any spaces open up.
