WSHI is a great place to learn about the many avenues open to you in science and technology. But don’t just take our word for it…here are some comments from 2006-2007 participants:
I liked the variety. Some of the topics I had no interest or knowledge of until this began. I’m sure it will help me in the future.

Westinghouse Science Honors Institute was a phenomenal experience. Being exposed to the different regions of science opened my mind to all the careers that are out there. Also, touching on the major issues of the day, I learned a lot of the science behind what was in the news.

The lectures were dynamic and the trip to PSU was great. I also met kids from other schools with the same interests as me.

I liked that you treated us like adults. You respected us and earned our respect in return.

I really enjoyed the opportunity to hear new material and challenge myself, meeting other kids like me. I also enjoyed how accessible the speakers were after the lectures. It was nice to finally be with a group that I could bounce ideas off of and who worked hard.

What I enjoyed most about the Westinghouse program was not just learning about the interesting topics but also the group activities. It helped me develop the social skills needed later in life.
