Ricardo (Ric) Pérez

Senior Vice President
Nuclear Services

As senior vice president of Westinghouse Nuclear Services, Ric Pérez leads a global organization that strengthens nuclear plant operation, safety and competitiveness through world-class, innovative field, engineering, and repair, replacement and automation services. Mr. Pérez previously held this position on an acting basis from June 2003 to August 2004 while the incumbent led a companywide operational excellence initiative. Mr. Pérez returned to the position in September 2006.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Pérez was responsible for the leadership of Westinghouse’s global Field Services business, which provides inspections,
maintenance and repair of nuclear power plant equipment worldwide. Before accepting that role in January 2002, Mr. Pérez was senior vice president, Nuclear Services Europe, with responsibility for leading Westinghouse’s European nuclear services operations and integrating the European nuclear operations of the former ABB Nuclear into Westinghouse. He was based in the U.K.

In 1996, Mr. Pérez returned to the U.S. as vice president and general manager of the Nuclear Services Business Unit.

From 1991 through 1996, Mr. Pérez was based in Belgium and held positions of increasing responsibility with Westinghouse’s European operations, including serving as managing director of European Operations. Before that, he spent more than a decade in direct support of nuclear operating plants in the United States. Mr. Pérez has extensive analytical and hands-on field experience, including a three-year assignment as the Westinghouse site services manager at Southern California Edison's San Onofre Nuclear Generating Stations.

Mr. Pérez holds a bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Florida and a master’s degree in Energy Resources from the University of Pittsburgh. He is an active member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and the Spanish Nuclear Society.
