Following the Governments Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician Standard you will be trained to level 3 in process operations over 4 years.
The apprenticeship is aimed at people of both genders with good academic qualifications - a minimum four GCSE’s at C/4 or above in Maths, English and Science. Applicants should have an interest in manufacturing and enjoy problem solving.
Your apprenticeship will equip you with the necessary skills to be part of Springfields’ future and give you the opportunity to earn at the same time as you learn. This will give you the chance of a first class start to a career which can sustain you for life.
The apprenticeship begins with studying basic engineering skills on a six month foundation course in our purpose built training centre. Further training includes specialised programmes covering a wide range of skills and attending college to study for a technical certificate on day release. You will then work in a variety of site placements where Plant Operation Technicians will undertake the safe and efficient operation of complex integrated production plant and systems. These activities could include plant commissioning, isolation and testing, plant preparation, plant start-up and shut down, monitoring and controlling plant and dealing with critical operational problems.
On successful completion of all the aspects of this apprenticeship you will receive a Level 3 apprenticeship in Plant process operations.
You will be responsible for the quality of your own work, possibly others’ and ensuring the work is completed safely, meets stakeholder quality, time and budget requirements, whilst maintaining the efficient running of plant and equipment.
